Back from Vacation!

June 7, 2005

We are back from Vacation. Actually we got back at 12:30am Sunday. Yesterday was spent reading hundreds of e-mails and sending out camp curriculum, roles and assignments and related info.

We had a great time at Disney, but we would have been drier in the tank with Shamoo while at SeaWorld. Titus, our youngest, really liked the characters. His older brothers were scared to death of them at his age. He particular liked “Pooh Bar” and “Mick Mick”.

The wedding was good for several laughs. The grandfather minister ignored his instructions and despite the blistering heat, he waxed the “vows only” ceremony into a full blown sermon on marriage as well as a 4 minute prayer at the end that I really wish I could recall. He had forgot to seat everyone so we all stood in the sun and endured “the peerless apostle Paul’s instructions”.

Last night I took Eli (who is the LAST child in America to see Star Wars 3) to the movies. We had a great time and for my vote this may be the best of the series. It certainly is the best of the last 3 made.

No, the last child would be my 12-year-old son. Or his dad. One or the other.

    Keith,
I give it a thumbs up for that age. It offers some good discussion starters about making bad choices and how at times those with our best interests seem “bad”. And to me a great illustration of those in leadership who need to recognize the need for friendship not just rules.

    Tommy –

I’ve been out of touch all day with Tom, who was having a bunch of medical tests (he’s okay, we think), so am just now getting around to my “regular” blogs. I really missed you last week and am glad your’re back and doing well!

Your thoughts on separate vacations in your comment to my blog might be worth considering! Although, any more, we pretty much do the “safe” things we BOTH can handle and like, which still makes for some fun times, in the end. That’s what happens when you get older (and wiser!).

Thanks for the comment and, again, I’m really glad you’re back! I’ve been missing the news from “northern” Mississippi! (When are you going to camp and how is that problem going ?)

    God bless!

Glad to be back. Thanks. That was not me with the seperate vacation idea.

The camp situation will not come up again until August when camp is over for the year. So for now there is opportunity to do some one on one discussions with other board members.–>
