Back from the Creek

August 7, 2006

We had a great visit to Big Creek (home of Angie’s Aim). Its always good to go there and visit. We saw old friends, played a game that I lost, and the winner cheated (for the record) and then we all went to eat at “The Steakhouse”. I couldn’t help but notice as we were there that God does work, sometimes its on his schedule and not ours. Angie’s dad toasted us, hosted us and made us stop and make sure we blessed the food. It was good stuff, the food was good too.

God’s providence in our lives is so hard to see in the moment. Hindsight gives us glimpses of it. I was thinking this morning on Abraham’s faith that was credited to him as righteousness. He trusted that God would intervene now in the present. Not that he would one day let him into heaven. May we all have the faith to know that God is intervening in the present.

All those stories are examples-not exceptions.

    T. that is such an important point. God is our God of today, not just tomorrow in Heaven. Life should be filled with conversation and interaction with the Father through out life.

Sounds like you guys had a great time.

    Looks like fun…

So important that we learn to find Jesus in Today…and be his Today!

    Wow, Tommy –

That looks a whole lot like the house we’re getting ready to build! Well – except for not being a log cabin and . . . well – in all the best ways, it’s alike.

YES – I can attest that God is, indeed, the God of the present who blesses us abundantly daily, moment by moment, actually, as my day has gone today.

As for Nance – she’s been admirably gracious so far in losing over at Finding Direction in the latest photo contest. And to keep her in good spirits in her loss, I’ve even thrown out some offers and incentives to keep her happy until the NEXT Finding Direction competition.

    Cheers! Y’all!

Hey Tommy! It was sooooo wonderful of you & Kim & the boys to drive over my way. We were really blessed by the visit – truly enjoyed time with all of you. I look forward to having you guys over for a weekend all to ourselves (and you can bring Sara Groves if you wanna!).

    Finding God today…
