In the story of the Prodigal Son,
the father does not

send the son for a bath
before hugging him.

I love that we don’t have to be cleaned up before God hugs us!

and yet we keep trying to get people “acceptable” before we let them fellowship with them….

    I love that!

Beautiful… What strikes me is that the love never left. The father loved his son before he left, while he was away and when he came home… So many times we’re tempted to STOP loving someone when they leave God for a season or backslide (whatever you want to call it), or you fill in the blank… If anything, the Father’s love grows stronger…

And the Father rushes out to meet us before we’re all the way home! It reminds me that God is a great encourager. I might turn around & run if He was standing there with His hands on his hips. Great reminders in this story!

In fact, the father runs to him.
