How do you know God’s around?

October 24, 2006

A facinating section of Acts to me is in chapter 14.

I plan to expound on the rest of this section soon, but tonight wanted to look at these few verses.

We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. 16In the past, he let all nations go their own way. 17Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

Did you catch that at the end.   If your heart has ever been filled with joy, then that is God’s testimony to himself.   Amazing stuff.  His kindness to you.

Today was a long day of adoption work, TONS of paperwork and reading and interviews but God is there in that tiring work.  Its done with a joy in my heart, not sure of any better way to spend my time.

I’m glad you’re happy in what you are doing. I would be, too. It’s very exciting!

Keep plugging at it. Persevere. God will do the rest.

Such mesmerizing love… I can get lost in it – when I take the time to allow myself to go there… It’s sad to admit that in the midst of a love like that I can still manage to desire to go my own way.

He still heaps on us that love.
