This first place caught my attention when we drove by. We were looking for a Target…of all the possible names for a store…

then right next door was this Noah’s Ark place.

Odd enough architecturally…and its safe to say that Panama City Beach is the low rent end of the Emerald Coast…. But here is a blow up of the sign.

“A Christian Place” Don’t know why but that struck me as strange. Not a church, not a day care, not a pet store, a Christian place. And given the next door neighbors you leave there two by two and get some advice next door on birth control.

No point here, no analogy… just strange.

Interesting juxtaposition there. I think we’ve seen that Noah’s Ark place before when we were over there. It sure looks familiar, anyway. I wonder how much business it gets. If it gets as much as the place next door. Probably not, I would guess.

But, for all you can still see and find along the drive there through Panama City Beach, Miracle Mile, one of our favorite place to drive through really slow is now long gone with humongous high rise condos going up everywhere and blocking any view of the beach and/or the gorgeous water for us peons who don’t have the big bucks to shell out to rent such a place or buy one.

Not that I’d want to stay in one, anyway. We much prefer the quiet little places along everywhere just like in the “old days,” before greed and big business took over the Gulf Coast. The same thing is beginning to happen over here in Biloxi and Gulfport and is rapidly encroaching on Long Beach. It’s quite sad to me.

Dee the future of the Mississippi Coast certainly is what we see elsewhere. Highrises in places and very much planned communities elsewhere. I could be seen as an improvement or another victim of Katrina.

Actually, I find the placement of “Noah’s Ark” encouraging. Imagine – a place for Christians smack dab in the middle of a world where sin is taking place and condoms are needed to minimize the damage.

Don’t know who came first to that location.

I’m hoping it wasn’t the Christians.

You’re in Panama City. We just passed the same landmarks last week! I commented about the same as you as we passed them. I actually thought I saw a sign on the other side of that ark place that said they restored places with water damage. Rosemary Beach looks much prettier than the rest of PCB.

Too bad you didn’t call us. I could have told you exactly how to get to the Target.
