A #1 combo and a extention cord

June 16, 2008

These are things you can only see in Mississippi!  We had stopped at the only place in the small town we were visiting to get some lunch.  Bumpers is a off brand version of Sonic.  We are waiting for our order and up rolls this guy on his scooter.  I just had to share.

Darin, no trays at Bumpers…but he does have a basket on the front and some sort of luggage rack on the back.

“Bumpers”? That’s funny. We don’t even have a Sonic close by here in north New Jersey. You’d think, being so close to NYC and all…sigh….

When I worked at a convenience store in Missouri back in my early college days there was a guy who came in from time to time on one of those. One month did all of his grocery shopping AT THE CONVENIENCE STORE with food stamps. I suggested the prices might be better down the road at the supermarket, but he said he hated that store.

Still, he didn’t buy his groceries with us again after that.

Hey – That looks a lot like MY scooter that a had when my foot was broken a couple of years ago. Except mine just had one wheel in the front and was a lot more compact than that one.

But, I DID have a basket in front!

I never thought about driving it to Sonic, though. Although, I HAVE seen people around town here on the highway on a scooter! I saw a guy not too long ago move into the center turn lane to turn left. I thought he was really crazy to be out in traffic on that thing, but I guess if that’s all you have . . .

This IS Picayune, Mississippi, after all!

Glad you took that picture. Neat.

Cheers & Blessings to you all today!

Yesterday a friend shared a photo with me she took with her phone at Wal-Mart in West Monroe. A pickup truck with a house air conditioner mounted in the back window powered with a gas generator which was chained down in the bed of the truck. I’m thinking, wonder how much it costs him to keep his truck cool? And, Isn’t it way too cool?
